A man was killed Friday morning when the car he was driving crashed into a power pole and was split in half in Pacoima.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Glenoaks and Van Nuys boulevards about 2 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Video from the scene showed the engine of the vehicle on the sidewalk and the rest of the vehicle up against a power pole.
The cause of the crash was under investigation, but it did not appear street racing was a factor, police said.
