Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the wounding of a man in an early morning apparent gang-related shooting in Anaheim, police said Thursday.

The shooting occurred in the 900 block of Dickel Street, east of Harbor Boulevard, about 3 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Anaheim Police Department.

A news photographer at the scene said the victim was pulled from the driver’s seat of a car and taken to a hospital.

He was shot in the face, according to The Orange County Register.

Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Shane Carringer said it appeared to be a gang-related shooting and the victim, whose name was withheld, was expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries.

A SWAT team searched a home in the 800 block of North Lemon Street Wednesday afternoon, but no suspects were located, police said.

The arrested suspects were identified as Francisco Gamino, 19, and Christian Mendivil, 20, both from Anaheim.

Gamino was arrested in Anaheim and Mendivil in Los Angeles County, both without incident, police said.

Additional details about the location and timing of the arrests were not immediately available nor were the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

“There are no outstanding suspects,” police said.
