The 2020 Major League Soccer All-Star Game will be played at Banc of California Stadium in Exposition Park, pitting MLS stars against top players from Mexico’s Liga MX, league officials announced Wednesday.

“As we celebrate our 25th season, we wanted to deliver a unique and unprecedented format for our annual All-Star Game,” MLS Commissioner Don Garber said. “Our first-ever game between the best of MLS and Liga MX’s top players is the perfect way to build on the growing relationship between the two top soccer leagues in the region.”

The MLS All-Star Game, sponsored by Target, will be played July 29 at the home of the Los Angeles Football Club and televised in the United States by ESPN and Univision. LAFC head coach Bob Bradley will manage the MLS all-star team.

MLS officials said there were be a weeklong lead-up to the match, with events planned across the Los Angeles area, including concerts, parties, an MLS All-Star Skills Challenge and the MLS Innovation Showcase.

People interested in tickets for the events can pre-register at MLSSoccer.com/AllStar.

The MLS All-Star Game was last played in Los Angeles in 2003, when the Galaxy hosted the event at the now-Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.
