Police are searching for two men who led them on high-seed car chase in Indio that resulted in injuries to two motorists.
Shortly before 2:45 p.m., an officer who witnessed two men in a late-model gray Camry traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 111 east of Monroe Street in Indio tried to pull the car over. Instead, the driver sped off and turned onto Shadow Palm Avenue, where the officer stopped pursuit due to traffic conditions, according to Indio Police Department Administrative Officer Ben Guitron.
The Camry then ran a red light at Avenue 46 and Clinton Street, striking two cars and a Sunline bus. Two motorists were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, Guitron said.
Authorities believe the two men in the Camry ran into the Pueblo Del Sol Mobile Home Park. Police later found a loaded gun in the car, he said.
