A car-to-car shooting in Pomona Saturday claimed the life of one man and injured another, authorities said.
The shooting was reported about 7 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Second St., Pomona police Lt. Steve Congalton said.
It started as a call of a traffic collision with shots fired, Congalton said.
Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had crashed into a tree and two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, he said. Both men were taken to a hospital but one man was pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives were conducting an on-scene investigation and closed Second Street between Oak and Buena Vista avenues, Congalton said.
No suspect description was available.
