A vehicle struck and critically injured a pedestrian in South Los Angeles Thursday evening.
Police received the call about the crash near Crenshaw Boulevard and 29th Street about 8 p.m., according to Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver remained at the scene, Madison said.
The victim was put into an ambulance and taken to a hospital in critical condition, Madison said.
Earlier, police had reported the victim had died as a result of injuries suffered in the accident.
