Authorities found nearly 1,100 marijuana plants and a weapon Friday on a property in the unincorporated Mead Valley area of Riverside County near Perris and the homeowner, a convicted felon, was arrested.
Deputies served an illegal marijuana cultivation search warrant at the home in the 22200 block of Markham Street about 9 a.m. and found 1,094 plants in various stages of growth inside several greenhouses, according to Sgt. Victor Pierson of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
All the plants were destroyed.
“In addition to the marijuana plants, deputies located a firearm inside the main residence,” Pierson said.
The property owner, identified as Alonzo Ivory, 64, was arrested on suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
