A motorist who led Pasadena police on a pursuit that went onto the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway Friday was taken into custody in the Valencia area.
The chase ended shortly before 1 p.m. near Magic Mountain Parkway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Pasadena police had pulled the driver of the pickup over, but he sped off after being asked about possible narcotics, according to broadcast reports.
His name was not immediately released.
