Authorities Friday identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in the East Los Angeles area.
Bryan Paredes, 24, of Norwalk, died at scene about 4:35 a.m. Thursday near Indiana Street, according to the coroner’s office and the California Highway Patrol.
According to the CHP, Paredes was riding a 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound when he crashed for unknown reasons into the center divider and was thrown over the median, where he was hit by a southbound vehicle.
“The passing motorist then exited the freeway and called 911 to report the incident,” a CHP statement said. “Alcohol and/or drugs is not suspected of the reporting driver. Alcohol and/or drugs is unknown at this time for the rider of the motorcycle.”
