An 86-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Carson was identified Tuesday.
Lourdes Giron, a Carson resident, was jaywalking across Avalon Boulevard and 184th Street when she was struck about 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to a deputy at the sheriff’s Carson Station. She died at the scene.
She was not carrying identification when she was killed, a deputy said. The coroner’s office later identified Giron.
The driver was not arrested and was not believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He cooperated with deputies as they conducted their investigation, according to the sheriff’s department.
