Two people were killed in a crash Friday at an Anaheim intersection and three others injured, including two 17-year-old boys, with police saying drugs and speed appear to be factors.
The 17-year-old driver of the Dodge Charger involved in the crash will be arrested after he is released from UCI Medical Center, Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Shane Carringer told The Orange County Register. Another 17-year-old boy was a passenger in the car.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Belinda Circle and Lincoln Avenue just before 2 p.m., police reported.
A white Dodge Charger was heading eastbound on Lincoln Avenue and ran a red light at Belinda Circle crashing into a Honda Civic that was in the intersection, Carringer told The Register.
The driver and a passenger in the Honda died at the scene and a backseat passenger was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, The Register reported. The names of the deceased were withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The 17-year-olds in the Charger were also taken to UCI Medical Center with moderate injuries, The Register reported.
