Officers discovered a 77-year-old man and his 29-year-old son dead, killed from stab wounds in an apparent murder/suicide inside a home in Garden Grove, police said Sunday.
The victims were identified as Thinh Vu and his son, Thomas Vu, the Garden Grove Police Department reported.
Officers were dispatched at 4:16 p.m. Saturday in response to a welfare check call for a home in the 11880 block of Stuart Drive.
“The reporting party was checking on his father and brother, who he had not heard from in days,” according to a police statement. “When the son did not get a response at his father’s residence, he called the police for assistance.”
Officers forced their way into the home, where both the father and son were found dead from what appeared to be stab wounds.
