Police Sunday were investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Cathedral City.
Officers received a call of shots fired at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday in the area of Avenida Juarez and McCallum Way, according to the Cathedral City Police Department.
Shortly afterward, officers received a second call about a vehicle crashing into a tree in the same area. When officers arrived at the crash location, they found a man inside the vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The man, who was not publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives were investigating the death as a homicide, police said.
