Glendale’s annual Armenian genocide commemoration will be held virtually Thursday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The commemoration will include video messages of solidarity from Glendale Mayor Vrej Agajanian, Councilmen Ara Najarian, Ardashes “Ardy” Kassakhian and Daniel Brotman and Councilwoman Paula Devine, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Burbank, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Sen. Anthony Portantino, D-La Canada Flintridge, and Assemblywoman Laura Friedman, D-Glendale.
The commemoration will broadcast at 7 p.m. Thursday on GTV6, Channel 6 for Spectrum customers and Channel 99 for AT&T customers in the Glendale area.
The commemoration will also be streamed on the city’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages, according to Eliza Papazian, public information officer for Glendale.
The documentary about families working to keep Armenian culture alive, “What Will Become of Us,” will be broadcast at 7 p.m. Friday on GTV6.
