Firefighters needed just 18 minutes Saturday morning to extinguish a fire in a vacant home in Hollywood that threatened nearby buildings.
Crews responded to the 5900 block of Barton Avenue, between Gower and Vine streets, at 4:20 a.m. and found the home well involved in fire, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 26 firefighters extinguished the flames and kept the fire from damaging any other structures. A knock down was called at 4:38 a.m., she said.
Arson investigators were called to determine the cause of the fire, Stewart said.
No injuries were reported.
