Two people, including a juvenile, were injured Monday after igniting illegal fireworks in Bell Gardens, police reported.
Several people called 911 about 12:15 p.m. to report an explosion in the west alley of Eastern Avenue, near Gotham Street, according to Lt. Dano Neslen of the Bell Gardens Police Department.
Police found a man and a boy, whose names and ages were not released, suffering from burns and severe hand injuries, Neslen said. They were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive, the lieutenant said.
