Authorities Wednesday identified a motorist who was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Long Beach.

Christopher Goldman of Long Beach, 26, died at the scene of the crash that occurred about 10 a.m. Tuesday at Atlantic Avenue and Rhea Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Goldman, driving a 1999 Toyota Camry, was making a left turn from eastbound Rhea Street to northbound Atlantic Avenue when his car was hit by a 2008 Lexus ES350 that was going southbound on Atlantic Avenue, police said.

The 42-year-old man driving the Lexus was not injured. His name was not released.

“The driver of the Lexus ES350 was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs and it is unknown at this time whether distracted driving was a factor in the collision,” police said.

Anyone with information on the crash was urged to call police at 562-570-7355.
