A Silver Alert was issued Sunday by the California Highway Patrol for a 70-year-old man with Alzheimer’s disease who went missing in Compton.
Armando Ojeda was last seen about 8:30 a.m. near his residence in the 2100 block of north Santa Fe Avenue, said sheriff’s Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez.
Ojeda is Hispanic. He stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He has brown eyes, brown hair and a tattoo of the word “Pauline” on his chest, Navarro-Suarez said.
He was last seen wearing a green striped shirt and brown plaid pants, she said.
Ojeda’s medical condition leaves him confused.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to call the sheriff’s missing persons unit at 323-890-5500 or 911. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
Silver Alerts are a public notification system for locating missing senior citizens, endangered children, high risk people and those who are mentally impaired.
