Public defenders will rally in Los Angeles Tuesday to show their support for reform in the criminal justice system.
Their union, Los Angeles Public Defenders Local 148, says that as essential front-line workers, public defenders have been fighting against the injustice of mass incarceration during a deadly pandemic for weeks.
“Now they will stand in solidarity with the thousands of people in Los Angeles and across the nation to protest systemic racism and support the decades-long struggle for justice,” the union said in a statement.
