An SUV was backed through the front window of a market at a Sylmar strip mall and ended up inside the business Wednesday, resulting in damage to the structure and a possible injury to the driver.
Firefighters went to the Ojo De Agua market, in the 13000 block of North Glenoaks Boulevard, about 9:40 a.m., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No one was hurt in the store, he said.
The SUV crashed into a “load-bearing pole” inside the building, and inspectors yellow-tagged the single-story structure until it can be determined if it’s safe for occupancy, Humphrey said. The man driving the SUV was taken to a hospital for evaluation of a possible injury.
The crash was under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
