Police Friday announced the arrests of a probationer and two others suspected in a pair of shootings in Indio.

Indio residents Janelle Zamarripa, 32, and Raymond Joseph Delafunte Jr., 28, along with Coachella resident Maria Delsocorro Celaya, 25, were arrested Thursday on suspicion of shooting at an inhabited building and conspiracy to commit a crime, among other crimes and remained jailed as of Friday afternoon on $50,000 bail.

Police responded at 9:20 p.m. Thursday to a report of gunshots at a house in the 82-100 block of El Paseo Avenue, where officers found a vehicle with a bullet hole, but nobody injured, according to Indio police spokesman Ben Guitron.

Officers investigated and learned a black Chevrolet Suburban was seen leaving the area after the shooting.

About 10:40 that night, officers in the area heard gunshots coming from the same block, where they reported seeing a black Suburban driving away from the scene. No injuries were reported in that shooting either.

Police pulled the vehicle over containing Zamarripa, Delafunte and Celaya, searched it and found a loaded gun and “evidence connected to the incident” inside.

Delafunte was on probation at the time of his arrest, police said.

No motive in the shooting was provided, nor was any additional information.

The trio could be arraigned as early as Tuesday at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.
