Two men were shot within about five minutes of each other in Duarte Sunday, although authorities can’t yet say whether the incidents are related.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of two shootings and two victims around 1 a.m. in Duarte, one in the 1200 block of Galen Street, the other in the 2000 block of Broadland Avenue, according to Michael Pittman, a supervisor in the Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch center.

Police first received a call that someone had been shot at 1 a.m., and located the victim in the 2000 block of Delford Avenue, said Lt. Chad Watters, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple City Station.

“Shortly thereafter we got a call of a second gunshot victim off of Galen Street,” he said. “Both victims do not appear to have life-threatening injuries.”

Both men were shot with a single bullet to the lower half of their bodies, police said.

Both are being cooperative and have been transported to hospitals, according to Watters.

Police have not yet released any information about a suspect or possible suspects.
