Four people, including a child, were hurt Monday in a possible DUI wrong-way crash in Costa Mesa involving seven or eight vehicles.
The victims, including one was extricated from the wreckage, were rushed to area trauma centers, said Costa Mesa Fire Capt. Joseph Noceti.
One victim was a child, said Roxi Fyad of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
Fernando Rodriguez Rabago, 24, was going the wrong way on Newport Boulevard, triggering the crash about 10:48 a.m. at 19th Street, Fyad said.
Rabago was booked on suspicion of driving drunk causing injury after he was taken to a hospital, Fyad said.
The other victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Fyad said.
