Five people were wounded early Tuesday in a shooting at a party in a warehouse in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles.

The shooting was reported at 12:39 a.m. at 22904 Lockness Ave., according to Officer A. Delatorre at the Los Angeles Police Department Operations Center.

The victims “were attending a large party at the warehouse when an unknown suspect drove up and fired randomly,” Delatorre said.

All of the victims had stable vital signs while hospitalized and undergoing treatment for their wounds, he said.

The shooting was believed gang-related, Delatorre said.

No arrests were immediately reported.

The shooting occurred at a warehouse owned by Cutting Edge Productions. The building’s owner told KTLA5 that he rented out the building for what he thought was going to be a video shoot. Police told the station the victims were three women and two men ranging in age from 20 to 39.

It was unclear how many people were at the party. The shooting was the second to occur at a large gathering in the past week. Last week, a 35-year-old woman was killed in a shooting that broke out at a house party in the Beverly Crest area.

It was the fourth large-scale party to make headlines in recent days, on the heels of a large gathering allegedly involving first-responders at a Hollywood bar, the Beverly Crest party that ended with a shooting and a wedding reception at an estate in the Holmby Hills.

The gatherings were all held in defiance of public health orders barring large parties in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
