A fire damaged a commercial building in Moreno Valley Monday, but no one was hurt.
Firefighters sent to the 24000 block of Sunnymead Boulevard at Heacock Street about 2 a.m. extinguished the flames in about two hours and 15 minutes, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Arriving firefighters went into a defensive mode, training water from outside the 5,000 square-foot building while protecting nearby structures, officials said.
Moreno Valley police and crews from Southern California Edison and SoCal Gas were called to the scene. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
