A man was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Hawthorne, authorities said Monday.

It happened at 9:47 p.m. in the intersection of Lemoli and Rosecrans avenues, said Hawthorne police Sgt. B. Jackson.

Two cars collided in the intersection and wound up on a sidewalk where they struck another car that was pulling out of a burger restaurant parking lot, Jackson said.

Paramedics took the man to Harbor UCLA Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, he sad.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 11:16 p.m. Sunday on behalf of Hawthorne police for the intersection of Lemoli and Rosecrans avenues.

The SigAlert was cancelled just before 2 a.m. and some lanes were reopened, Jackson said.
