Former Bell Councilman Danny Harber was arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting his 81-year-old wife Tuesday.
Donna Harber was shot about at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 4900 block of Weik Avenue, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said.
She was found suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body and pronounced dead at the scene, according to Navarro-Suarez.
Donna Harber has suffered from mental health issues, including dementia, former Bell Councilwoman Violeta Alvarez told NBC4.
Danny Harber was taken to a hospital for medical clearance but will be booked and held on $200,000 bail, Navarro-Suarez said.
Danny Harber served on the Bell City Council from 2011-13.
