A 47-year-old La Habra man was arrested Wednesday in Buena Park for allegedly vandalizing, stalking and making criminal threats against victims in six cities in the Southland.
In December, the Pomona Police Department began investigating “numerous vandalisms” at a home in Pomona, and the investigation led them to additional vandalisms, stalkings and criminal threats made in Hacienda Heights, Fullerton, Irvine, San Dimas and Idyllwild, according to police.
“The suspect was pouring paint on the victims houses, vehicles and slashing their tires,” police said.
Police said they arrested Mel Brencius about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
He was being held at the Pomona City Jail on $550,000 bail, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed 18 counts, including felony vandalism, stalking and criminal threats, against Brencius, police said.
