A young man accused of robbing a La Quinta car wash at gunpoint was behind bars Thursday, along with a woman accused of acting as his getaway driver.

Jacob Isaac Soria, 19, and Jessica Angelique Guerrero, 22, both of Palm Desert, were arrested Wednesday night after the alleged robbery reported at the Quick Quack Car Wash at 43632 Washington St., according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Mariano Matos.

Deputies were sent to the car wash at 9 p.m. that night to a report of a robbery. Matos alleged that Soria entered the business, pointed a gun at employees and demanded money while Guerrero waited outside in a car.

Additional information about the robbery was not provided, including whether anything was stolen.

The pair were arrested about an hour later on Michigan Drive in Palm Desert, where Soria was allegedly caught with a loaded gun and “items of evidential value,” Matos said.

They were booked at the Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of conspiracy and robbery, where they each remained on $30,000 bail, jail records show.

The defendants are scheduled to be charged as soon as Friday, records show.

Neither Soria or Guerrero have documented felony convictions in Riverside County.
