A Los Angeles police officer was sentenced Friday to 20 days of Caltrans work and three years probation for receiving more than $8,000 for work she didn’t perform.
Monica Renee Moore — who paid $8,543 in restitution — must also resign from the Los Angeles Police Department, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Moore, 48, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of grand theft. She falsely reported that she was at work 18 times between April 2018 and October 2018, resulting in her being paid $8,543, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
She was charged in May 2019.
