Two men suspected of breaking into a home in Pico Rivera Friday morning were both shot by the homeowner, and one was killed.

Deputies responded to the 8400 block of Serapis Avenue, east of Rosemead Boulevard, about 1:20 a.m. and found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspects had been trying to get into the home through a window, the department said.

One suspect was killed and the second was wounded, according to the department.

A getaway driver who took the wounded suspect to a hospital has been taken into custody and the suspect was undergoing surgery, NBC4 reported.
