A person was fatally injured Saturday when a vehicle slammed into a tree in Pomona, police said.
The crash happened about 4:45 p.m. in the area of Arrow Highway and Yorkshire Way, Pomona police said.
When officers arrived they found the driver in grave condition. County fire paramedics treated the victim but the person died at the scene, police said.
Witnesses told police the vehicle was heading east on Arrow Highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the tree.
There was no word yet on the gender or age of the driver. The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
