The attack occurred Saturday night in the 100 block of Goldfinch Lane, near Murphy Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were called to the location about 9:15 p.m. to investigate reports of a man down from an assault with a deadly weapon, Sgt. Richard Carroll said.

Carroll did not specify whether they were blunt force or stab wounds.
First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene, according to Carroll.
No information was provided regarding identification of a potential suspect or suspects, nor did Carroll mention a possible motive.
