A 41-year-old Pomona man on probation has been arrested for having a gun illegally and possessing controlled substances, police said Sunday.
At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, police stopped a man known to be on probation around the 300 block of Otis Court, according to the Pomona Police Department.
“Due to his probationary status, officers conducted a compliance check of his residence and found a loaded 9 mm handgun, and a moderate amount of heroin and methamphetamine,” Sgt. M. Medellin, of the Major Crimes Task Force said, adding the suspect is part of a gang. “He was booked locally to await his arraignment.”
David ”Vago” Valles was charged with possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, and possessing a firearm as a felon.
“Valles was cooperative with police, and was taken into-custody without incident,” Medellin said.
