Two people were taken to a hospital Thursday afternoon from the scene of a possible murder-suicide attempt in Koreatown, Los Angeles police said.

Officers responded to a call of a shooting at 2:26 p.m. in the 800 block of South Catalina Street, near West Eighth Street, and two people were taken to a hospital by ambulance, according to Officer William Cooper of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The preliminary investigation points to an attempted murder-suicide involving a man who shot himself and his wife, Cooper said.

Their conditions and identities were not immediately released.
