A routine traffic stop by a police sergeant in Westminster Saturday netted more than 30 grams of methamphetamine, some cash and a loaded, unserialized handgun that was underneath the driver’s seat, police said.
The traffic stop happened at about 2 a.m. in the area of Bushard Street and Hazard Avenue, the Westminster Police Department reported.
It occurred when a police sergeant spotted a code violation on the vehicle. The suspect, the lone occupant inside the vehicle, was described as a man in his 30s. He was arrested on suspicion of unspecified drug and firearms charges, police said.
There was no other immediate information.
