An 80-year-old woman who suffers from dementia and went missing in Irvine was found Friday evening in a park and reunited with her family.
Guan Shenglan had last been seen Friday morning near Jeffrey Road and Long Meadow, according to the Irvine Police Department, which did not provide the exact time.
A helicopter from the Anaheim Police Department assisted Irvine police by flying over the neighborhood and making announcements over a public address system.
A neighbor heard the announcements and called Irvine police to report seeing Shenglan at Woodbury Community Park on Long Meadow near Sanctuary, police said. The time she was located was not disclosed.
Officers went to the park and found Shenglan, who was examined by Orange County Fire Authority personnel and found to be in good health, police said.
Shenglan was taken home by an officer and reunited with her family.
