A person was taken to a hospital in critical condition after being struck by a Metrolink train in San Fernando Tuesday evening.
The train was traveling northbound on the Antelope Valley line 223 to Lancaster when it struck the person on the tracks near Brand Boulevard about 7:15 p.m., according to Metrolink’s Scott Johnson. It was not immediately clear what the person was doing on the tracks.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Johnson said.
Ninety passengers were aboard the train, which was still holding in the area as of 8:10 p.m. while San Fernando Police Department officers conducted their investigation, Johnson said. Service resumed by 9:10 p.m.
The San Fernando Police Department was not immediately available for more information.
