A man kicked in the front door of a San Dimas home early Friday was fatally stabbed by the homeowner during a fight, according to sheriff’s officials.
The skirmish occurred about 4 a.m. in the 400 block of Portola Street, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported. Deputies were dispatched to location in response to a “burglary in progress” call.
The suspect, who fled the location prior to their arrival, crashed his vehicle nearby and was taken by paramedics to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said Deputy Grace Medrano of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. His name was not immediately released.
“At this point, it is undetermined the suspect’s intent breaking into the location,” Medrano said. “During the break-in, several adults were inside the house, but were not injured during the incident.”
