A fire fully engulfed a garage converted into an apartment in Rosemead Monday morning and the firefighters who doused the flames found a person dead inside.
The fire was reported at 3:51 a.m. at a home in the 2400 block of Gladys Avenue, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Melinda Choi.
Firefighters put out the flames at 4:18 a.m. and found one person dead inside, Choi said.
Arson investigators were on the scene, she said.
