A Silver Alert was issued Thursday afternoon for a 91-year-old woman who went missing in Alhambra without a cell phone and suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and depression.
Baudelia Ruiz was last seen between 6:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Campbell Avenue, near Valley Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert for Los Angeles County on behalf of the Alhambra Police Department.
Ruiz, who only speaks Spanish, is described as Hispanic, 5 feet tall, 100 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes, and believed to be wearing black pants, a white sweater and floral blue-and-yellow mask, the Alhambra Police Department reported. She also uses an aluminum cane and walks with a limp.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts was urged to call 911 or the Alhambra Police Department at 626-570-5168.
The Silver Alert program was established to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled and cognitively impaired individuals, according to the CHP.
