A 24-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of arson in connection with an blaze that ripped through an upstairs unit in a two-story apartment building in Canoga Park.
Nearly 80 firefighters dispatched at 1:52 a.m. to 21315 Roscoe Blvd., near Canoga Avenue, had the fire fully extinguished in about a half-hour, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
About 4 a.m., Los Angeles police arrested Michael Johnson on suspicion of arson of a structure, said Officer Jeff Lee.
Lee did not have information on whether Johnson lived in the apartment building, but said he was a Los Angeles resident.
