A 50-year-old woman was shot in the downtown area of Los Angeles, authorities said Sunday.
The shooting occurred just before midnight at Sixth and San Pedro streets, according to a dispatcher at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
Paramedics took the woman to a hospital for treatment, she said. The suspect fled on foot.
A news videographer at the scene said the woman was shot in the face.
