A man was shot to death Sunday evening at the Van Ness Recreation Center in the Hyde Park area of Los Angeles.
The shooting was reported at 7:51 p.m. at the park at 5720 Second Ave., said Sgt. J. Phelps of the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Station.
The man, about 50 years old, was shot multiple times including a head wound, and pronounced dead at the scene, Phelps said.
The shooting occurred by or in the bleachers, he said.
No suspect information was available.
