A homeless man in Pasadena was struck and killed by a motorist who stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities, police said Saturday.
The crash occurred at 7:53 p.m. Friday in the area of South Arroyo Parkway and East Glenarm Street, Pasadena Police Lt. Anthony Burgess said.
The driver was going southbound on Arroyo Parkway when the pedestrian “jumped out in front of her,” Burgess said. “She was going through a green light.”
Paramedics rushed the man to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
There were no indications that speed or intoxication were factors in the crash, Burgess added.
The name of the homeless man will be released pending notification of next of kin, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Pasadena police urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 626-744-4241 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
