Two men have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in Monrovia, authorities said Monday.

Deon Armstrong-Williams, 25, and Trayvon Dixon, 21, were taken into custody in January, accused in the shooting death of Antonio Zaza inside a liquor store, according to the Monrovia Police Department.

Monrovia police were called about 8:20 p.m. Dec. 23 to Al’s Liquor at 412 W. Duarte Road, where Zaza was found lying on the ground and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which was assisting Monrovia police with the investigation.

Authorities have not provided details on the allegations that led to the arrests of the two men.

Armstrong-Williams was taken into custody Jan. 18, and Dixon was arrested Jan. 28, jail records show.
