A search was continuing Monday for a hit-and-run motorist wanted in a weekend crash in Palmdale that left a teenager and a young man dead.
The crash occurred about 10:20 p.m. Saturday near 10th Street West and Avenue O-8, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Witnesses said the driver of a black vehicle was fleeing from a previous crash when he drove through an intersection and T-boned a silver Honda carrying the fatally injured victims, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, sheriff’s officials said.
The victims died at the scene, said Lt. Al Barajas of the sheriff’s Palmdale station. Their names were withheld, pending notification of their next of kin.
Two other people suffered injuries but declined to be transported to an area hospital, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The hit-and-run motorist fled on foot, according to sheriff’s officials, who asked anyone with information regarding the crash to call investigators at 661-272-2400.
