In what could be a scene out of a mystery novel, the bloody body of a stabbing and beating victim has been found rolled up in a carpet near Compton Creek in the unincorporated Rancho Dominguez area near Compton.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies noticed the carpet while conducting a patrol check of the creek off East Del Amo Boulevard about 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the department.
Inside the carpet deputies discovered a man “who had been beaten and stabbed,” the department said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s name was not immediately released.
Deputies asked anyone with information to call the homicide bureau at 323-890-5500.
There were no other details released about the killing.
