A woman in her 20s was killed and a man is in stable condition at an area hospital from a shooting in the Athens area of unincorporated Los Angeles County, authorities said Sunday.
The shooting was reported at 3:25 p.m. Saturday at Berendo Avenue and 119th Street, according to Deputy Miguel Meza of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Deputies responding to a home in that area reported a man in his 50s suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported.
The woman in her 20s was taken by a private vehicle to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
