A man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a 65-year-old North Palm Springs woman which is now being investigated as a homicide but few details were available Monday.
Robin Patricia Barr of North Palm Springs was last heard from Thursday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Rick Espinoza said deputies were sent to the 64000 block of Vermillion Road in the unincorporated community on a “suspicious circumstance call” and discovered her missing.
Barr is now presumed dead, although her body has not been located, authorities said.
David Williams Jr., 27, of North Palm Springs was arrested and booked on unspecified offenses in connection to the case, officials said. Additional information about his arrest was not provided.
Espinoza said homicide investigators assumed the investigation due to the “nature of the circumstances.” He did not explain the circumstances.
Sheriff’s officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment seeking additional information.
Anyone with information about the case was urged to call Central Homicide Investigator Joshua Manjarrez at 760-393-3530 or 951-955-2777.
